Its time to use up some of these strips I have cut!
decided I needed to tackle the THREE , 1 1/2" bins and baskets of strips.
I hope to empty this basket with my next project.
Nine patches, four patches or maybe a rail fence quilt
maybe all three...oh yes at least one will be a little quilt!
First step cut them into smaller strips
then start sewing and playing...
I love little quilts...I love looking at them, I love making them especially when they are inspired by antique quilts !
Imagine my delight when I opened up this blog today....
Oh My Gosh is all I can say.
I can only dream of having a wall of little quilts in our home some day...some day soon!
You will SEE a few of these reproduced next year when I do my little quilt a month personal challenge!
Yesterday at the quilt show I went to they had a raffle for little quilts, yes I tried and tried and tried to win one, I didn't
I did get a few more ideas there as well. Barb was in charge of the little quilt raffle you can see some of them on her blog!
It was a great show. I came home very motivated thats always a good sign!

I like your personal challenge, and I can't wait to see all the lovely little quilts you make!
I've never been especially driven to make little quilts, but your enthusiasm is contagious! I may think about that little-quilt-a-month challenge. That is an excellent idea!
I popped over to see the Miniatures, Kathie - just wonderful and I love your rail fence pieceing - looking forward to seeing more!
Hugs - Lurline♥
Now this is a HAPPY happy post! I love every bit of it. Little scrappy quilts of inspiration, *karendianne.
Kathy I went to that blog you mentioned with the miniature quilts and I must agree that they are displayed so well and they look so good. Now if only I could read the blog. LOL
So far so good! Must feel good to use those scraps!
A scrappy rail fence is always good, especially in repro fabrics.
Simple but stunning quilt! Thanks for the fabulous link.
Yes.. that is so pretty! I am binding one just like that.. one of my favorite patterns. Love the fabrics you put together there.. the blue just makes it.
Barb has dragged me to to not only repros but applique *gulp* I bought some fqs to try a pattern I won yesterday- then it was a blue and white kit for a wall hanging - then it was a book and fqs to make a wall hanging from the book.
I love all those tiny mini's- I'd love to follow along with a mini a month. They are very addicting :)
Oh wow, a house full of little quilts, aren't they incredible? I love the little blue one with the red horse, and the one with the flying geese, and the framed one, and....I love them all!!! Your little quilt a month sounds like an interesting idea.xo
Great use of strips and I am making a few quilts at a time so I can hang them on walls and anywhere else I can. Love how it makes the house feel warm and cozy.
Debbie
Lots of strips there Kathie! So far so good! I like how it is looking....
That blog has awesome little quilts!
I look forward to your small quilt a month in the new year!!! Sounds wonderful... 8-)
Happy stitchings!
I think you are having fun with your strips there. Playing is the best part. I need that wall of quilts! I love them all and what an inspiring blog with gorgeous photos. Thanks for sharing it.
Hi, Kathie, don't you love those little strip blocks. The small quilts I've made are like little jewels to me, I love them. Thank you for posting the link to the miniature quilts; my favorite are those miniature versions of the really simple graphic quilts, I must make one of them.
Love the miniature quilts from your website link. What an interesting collection of things there.
Love the way your quilt is turning out. You are a dynamo!
thanks for sharing those links. Love all those mini quilts but I really love the guild raffle quilt. Awesome!
What a gorgeous selection of little quilts! Thanks for sharing that link.
Funny, I'd been thinking about doing a small quilt each month next year, too. When I participated in the Doll Quilt Swap last year, it reminded me of how quickly a small quilt goes together and what an impact a nice design in a small format can have.
I like you new quilt. I agree little quilts are fun. Glad to see you have your quilting mojo still....
I'm in the mood for some little quilts too. I have some leftover triangle squares from three different projects that are begging to be played with after I finish a bigger project. It's nice to have faster finishes with smaller projects, isn't it?
I really love the piles of scraps becoming usable pieces...loe the possiblities!
I just finished blogging about my extra 2" strips and what I did with them! Yours is looking good! I love the mini quilts. Now I have some ideas of how to use up some of my other scraps! :0)
love those strip blocks!
The little quilts are amazing, makes me want to hang all mine at once.
little quilt a month, eh?
sounds too good to pass up.
barb
Can't wait to see that grow...love the colors!
I love your idea of the doll quilt a month. Every time I make a quilt I save a bundle of scraps and intend to make a doll quilt. I often only get to the block stage and then I'm off again on a big quilt. It takes discipline to complete those beautiful little extras. Haven't been around for a while and enjoyed catching up with your blog. Ann :)
Oh wow I went to that link and that is one amazing little quilt wall!!! I love little quilts too. I like your "little quilt a month" idea...I saw the cutest quilt at the SD quilt show this year, unfortunately I only had my phone camera so it's not the greatest but if I can get it to my email I will send it to you. she basically had these teeny tiny quilts and she made a small quilt to put them all on...o.k. it will make more sense if I send it to you. I totally fell in love with it!!! Oh and I love your little strips :)
Love all those minis on the wall. We are planning on filling the staircase walls to the basement with little quilts - it will make the trip up and down a lot more inviting *s*
another fabulous idea, thanks Kathi!
Kathie, what a wonderful idea--one doll quilt a month--you'll have your own little wall of quilts in no time!
