Finally a productive week in the sewing room!
how cute is this little quilt? I just love it. Yes I chose the shirting but decided I will make it with the primitive muslin as well.
I am convinced it will have a different look and feel to the quilt, stay tuned! I will post a picture next week with the two of them for you to decide!
Second block done from the Flower Garden quilt! don't you just love that pink leaf!
here are my two blocks together!
Went with the blue binding, I am happy with my choice.
almost done sewing it down Information about this quilt is in this post.
Pulled this book out last night and have always loved this Copp Quilt
the pattern is in this book, this is a great book
Quilts an American Legacy by Mimi Dietrich, antique quilts reproduced from the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC
Here you can see the antique quilt and Helen Johnston's version of it.
I think this has just moved up on my list to make soon.
last but not least I started cutting out and laid out a little quilt from Simply Charming new little quilt book! I added a bit of my
own twist to the Hopscotch pattern hope to get it sewn together this weekend. Don't you love reds and browns together?
Hope you all had a productive week too!

Kathie,
I finished up my quilt yesterday...just needs quilting, but maybe I'll post mine. I did mine in one of the new deep blues in Jo Morton's Luminarias line. I also used the primitive muslin to go along with it. I love that stuff and it is so neat how it makes the quilt look aged. I am addicted to it:D
Maybe I should post a picture of it? It's not quilted yet.
Blessings,
Sue
Thanks for showing us the fruit of your productive week! I am glad you went with the blue binding. I think the quilt would have looked unfinished without it. And, you are going to do the red stars with both! Good decision. My Lollypop Tree pattern arrived yesterday but am still waiting on the flower garden one. How much yardage is needed for the background on that one?
Wow - you have been busy! I am feeling very inspired. I think I am going to have to make a brown/red quilt soon!
Kathie, I love every one of your projects. I can't wait to see the little quilt with muslin.
I love the blue binding on the big quilt. Did you machine quilt it yourself or send it out?
Love your Flower Garden blocks. So pretty. Yes it feels good to get some sewing done :-)
Love your little star quilt. Have you ever seen, in your antique research, a star quilt w/blocks set on-point ?
Your blue and white quilt turned out devine. Love your choice of blue binding. I'm in love with your applique blocks. Let's face it I love everything you posted today. Thanks for all the inspiration. Hugs.
You are making some great quilts Kathie and providing me with some great inspiration!!! I do love the shirting with the red and I can't wait to see it with the aged muslin too.
You should do a sew along when you make the Mimi Dietrich quilt...I ordered that book today...yeah!
Love the Flower Pots, just love them.
Have a great and productive weekend!
All of your projects are wonderful. Those applique blocks are out of site..... Thanks for sharing, Carolyn :) P.S. I love reds too!
wow..so many drool worthy projects in this post!
I LOVE the applique in repros.
The blue binding is the perfect finish to your Goose in the Pond IMHO, and the little quilt with red/brown is one of my favorite color combos.
Your little quilt is darling with the shirting. Maybe do one in the muslin and make one with rounded corners..one without?
You are truely an inspiration! Your work is lovely.
Love your little star quilt and Hopscotch is wonderful...I've always loved the Copp quilt and Mimi's version is awesome...it's on my list.
I must sew faster!
Geez Kathie. You sure know how to make someone feel like a complete and total slacker. I made a nine-patch. That's right. Just one. :)
Your Flower Garden blocks are beautiful and I love your blue and white quilt, the blue binding is perfect.
Have a terrific weekend!
How busy you have been - I love the quilts - specially your floral blocks.
Oh my goodness you continue to amaze! I love, love, love the little quilt with the stars - it's adorable. May I ask - how big are the stars?
The pink leaf is delightful on your applique block.
All of this is so lovely! I really like your new header too. Hope you have another productive week. What fun!
I love the way the blue binding looks with the goose pond quilt! It's perfect. I can't wait to see the stars on the muslin but I have to say I really do like them on the shirting. I've had a thing for shirtings lately.
Love what you have been doing this week.
The quilting on the goose in the pond looks super- Did you quilt it yourself?
I love that book. Have fun creating. You are getting so much done!
I do like the blue binding! More temptation!
I really love the blue and white quilt and you chose the right binding for it!
I am looking forward to seeing all your other projects as they move towards completion. I seem very good at starting but reach a difficult bit and I grind to a halt until something new takes my fancy. I have promised myself this will be the year of the UFO! Wish me luck!
Love the little star quilt with the shirtings. Your applique' blocks are gorgeous and I also love your fabric choices for your Hopscotch quilt!
You really did have a productive week! Congrats on getting so much accomplished!
It looks like you made the most of your sewing time this week, I just love everything. The blue binding looks perfect and love the blooms and the doll quilts.
Your blue and white quilt looks just wonderful, the blue binding really frames it well!!! The Copp Quilt you are planning on doing is just lovely, I love quilts that have lots of bits in them, thankyou for sharing, you seem to get a lot done!!!
Lovely sewing week Kathie...
The blue binding is a perfect frame for the blue quilt...I love it!
Oh my gosh Kathie so much we plan to do..so many lovely projects..need more hours in the day!

You've had a very productive week indeed. Love your use of that old yellow/green Elly Sienkiewicz fabric. You're keeping me inspired even though I don't have time to sew.
WOW your really were productive this week!! I love everything you have been working on :o)
Crispy
I should say it was a productive week!! doesn't it feel sooo good?? Love your projects.
Love the applique, but then I'm obsessed...
Hi Kathie, I have been looking at your blog for quite a while and was quite surprised today whan a friend of mine told me to look at the Copp Quilt reproduction in your blog. That is actually my quilt - it is on the wall from me right now. I was lucky enough to be taking Mimi's BA class when I completed my version of the Copp Quilt. She remembered my quilt and when she did the 2nd book on quilts from the Smithsonian she called me and my quilt became a cover girl! Love your projects! Helen
Yes, I do love that pink leaf, and the rest of the block, too.
Mimi Dietrich’s books were instrumental in helping me identify my quilting style. I still consult them and get ideas from them. There are several quilts on my “to do” list inspired by the quilts in her books. The Copp Quilt and Helen Johnston’s version of it are among my favorites.
They are all just gorgeous! Love the blue quilt!
Blessings
Thanks for adding your red and white stars to the online exhibit. It is so beautifully simple. By the way, I saw Helen Johnston's quilt in a local shop years ago when she did a class on it. Thanks for the reminder that this is a quilt I've wanted to do. Reproduction fabrics were much less common when she did her quilt. It will be far easier to reproduce now.
LOVE the flowers!!!
I love your red and white star quilt. And your flower blocks are beautiful. Can not wait to see to see them all.
Hugs

It is always wonderful seeing what you are up to, you are so productive! Gorgeous flower blocks. xo
I love everything you make! The reds and browns look terrific. Are you making all of the Prairie Women's Circle Club quilts? The log cabin is a lot bigger than the first one. You are an inspiration.
