One of the few with a print fabric in the exhibit, just beautiful.

a few more pictures from the Infinite Variety : Three Centuries of REd and White Quilts I am sure there will be so many pictures posted from this exhibit I don't think I will continue to post pictures of it. I will keep you posted though as to when the book will be out and as soon as I hear where some of the quilts will be exhibited next. She will be lending them to museums all over the world I read. How exciting is that!
See my original post here and my thank you to Joanna Semel Rose for an incredible opportunity to see her quilts in person.

this quilt was just beautiful, I loved the design as well as the quilting.

this quilt just spoke to me! Loved the quilting. simple yet graphic.

you can see right next to the quilt above was this quilt. It was a signature quilt BUT with typed names rather then signatures, you really had to look to see them! I thought this was fun and creative!

I saw a few goose in the pond quilts, different settings , I will have to make another one in red and white now.
I gave away my blue one to a friend.

now the winner of the red fabrics for my giveaway is Pinkadot quilts. I loved that she wanted to make a quilt for herself finally and its going to be interesting to see reproduction fabrics used in one of her quilts now! Just email me and give me your address and I will mail the fabrics out to you this week.

Congratulations to Kelly, she's a red lover for sure so they'll be going to a good home. Thanks for more thoughts on the exhibition and highlighting the quilting too. It's great to see some closeups.

(a different Cheryl) - Love the closeups - most of the pictures we are seeing show the enormity of the collection and the fantastic display. Your photos are more personal and show the details that are lost in the big views - please post as many as you have with your comments - and thank you!

I love seeing the close up pics. The ones of the exhibit with quilts hanging high up in the air are hard to see the details and quilting.
I hope the book will have individual pics. I'd love to have it so keep us posted?

Congrats to Pinkadot!

Thank you for sharing all of these photos. One thing I don't have but always wanted was a red and white quilt. I think I'll just have to make one now. :)

There are lots of pics of this exhibition out there, but I never get sick of looking at them, everyone posts different views and different quilts. I too am very inspired and now want to make a red & white quilt!!! Congratulations on the winner of the fabrics!!!

I am enjoying seeing the red & white quilts on the blogs. Interesting as to which quilts caught someone's eye more than another. I was wondering if the quilts were solid color fabrics or prints. You have answered my question.

Thanks for your comment!
The exhibit must have been very impressive to see. I love to use the colour red in my quilts and your pictures of those red and white quilts are beautiful. I signed in to get information when the catalog will be ready. I think that is the book you are talking about?
