yesterday I picked up a few quilts that were long arm quilted...
I just love the way this one came out! Its amazing what those machines can do!
Look how she took the baptist fans and shrunk them down to fit my little quilt!
Its amazing what a simple little quilt can reach another level by the quilting. This quilt was enhanced tremendously by the quilting in mho

Baptist fans is one of my favorite quilting patterns.
do you have a favorite? I would love to know.

Very cute! I couldn't being to pick a favorite quilting pattern...I like the ones that add to quilt instead of detracting from or over powering the quilt.

Sweet little quilt. I heartily agree with you on the Baptist Fan pattern. If I had to pick only one pattern, that would be it.

I agree, the quilting makes this little quilt come alive! It's beautiful!

It looks like hand quilting. Fabulous quilt and quilting - Hugs Nat

By machine - I like how a stipple allow the pattern & fabrics to sing. (Doesn't compete.)
By hand - a simple cross hatch!

Baptist fan is my favorite to do in hand quilting. I love the look.

It's really very pretty. Both the quilt and the quilting. I love the patterns in all of it.

I love feathers but B Fans is right up there. I've quilted them on a few of my own little quilts and they add just what is needed; which is exactly what the quilting should do.

Love your little quilt. For me any thing with feathers is my favorite go to pattern.

I love Baptist fans, too. It always seems to infuse a geometric quilt with another layer of interest.

I agree, the quilting enhanced this little quilt in a beautiful way. I too love those fans! They soften a quilt with very sharp points and they are so much fun to quilt.

The quilting is lovely on your little quilt! I like baptist fans very much - my favorite though is feathers.

Nothing beats a nice cable if you have the border to carry it off.

It came out beautifully. I did that pattern on one of my quilts and it came out pretty good, not perfect, but not bad for free motion;)

Cute quilt - is it cream or gray thread? I'm spying that red one underneath...
Happy binding.

Those fans looks fan-tastic!!
what a sweet little dolly quilt.

Those tiny fans are a wonderful compliment to this little quilt. I like the all-over repeat patterns used on vintage quilts, like the Baptist Fan. Another I like is the clamshell.

Kathie, cute quilt. I often use Baptist Fans and Clam Shells they just seem to fit the reproduction quilts, along with feathers of course.

Jan said...

Fans would have to be my favorite. Pat mentioned clamshells & I have two crib quilt tops that I think will be machine quilted with that pattern, for a change. Have you ever seen Kaye England's quilts? She has quite a few, as I remember, that were quilted in feathers running diagonally. The look was just fabulous. Must try that, too!
Is this a doll quilt? I have never even thought of machine fans on a doll quilt! It really looks "fan"tastic.

I'm a fan of fans but I couldn't pick a favourite pattern, i have different favourites on different days, I guess it's about which quilt I'm planning.

That baptist fan quilting looks great on your little one patch quilt. Did you send several littles to be done at once?

What a pretty little quilt!! I've wanted to do some Baptist Fan quilting on a quilt but, as of yet, haven't yet -- seeing how cute that is makes me determined to try it out!

Sweet quilt! Don't have a favorite for pieced quilts but my favorite for applique is echoing, esp. on primitive quilts.

I'm not a real big huge fan of the baptist fan...but do love seeing it scaled down like this! I'm going to give it a try on one of my own!! Thanks for sharing.

Baptist Fans are my MOST Favorite! Small quilts aren't too bad to longarm...they can stack right across and nice whole yard and get done all at once so it saves time!! Everything look fabulous Kathie.

The scale of the quilting is indeed perfect for this little quilt.
