I LOVE the fall and the changing of the leaves is always amazing to me. The colors are just so beautiful. The quilt is made from Batiks, machine buttonholed, hand quilted and embroidered.
it was a bit challenging but well worth the effort, to this day I just love this quilt, it hangs in our home all year round. (and yes those santa's and feather tree stay out all year round too, I just love them!)
I wanted the quilting to reflect a forest floor with leaves scattered all around...
Now check out Dawn's leaf quilt!
Mine was made with a pattern from Laura Heine

Oh how wonderful for autumn or indeed all year round. The colours are beautiful and I love the shape of the leaves. Your quilting is fabulous, thanks for the happy photos. I have the same Santas!
It is beautiful! Love all the batiks you have used. Yes, I was happily surprised seeing fabrics other than reproductions. Great to see this quilt today, I am not ready for cold!
I think quilts like yours truly herald the change in season - well more than the weather anyway. It seems so variable these days - snowstorms in autumn/fall. I love the veins in the leaves.
Beautiful Kathy.
Oh, this is beautiful, simply beautiful! Your work is amazing!
Whoa, that is gorgeous! I just love batiks. I need to get back to them. When I get back to quilting that is.
Stunning!
That quilt is lovely! The leaves look like you picked them off the ground and pressed them onto the fabric!
Beautiful quilt! Was it hard to hand quilt through the batiks? I like the mix of holidays. I have a little decorated tree I keep out all year round too.
It is so pretty and I really like the veins in the leaves. I can see why you leave it our all year long!
Beautiful!!
It is lovely.
It's beautiful, Kathie.

I love your wall hanging, the colors and fabrics are just fabulous!!
The leaf quilt is lovely. I can see why it is on the wall year round.
Very pretty!
That is a beautiful quilt and beautiful fabrics. I enjoy doing art pieces too and working with art fabrics, need to get something started for the kids for christmas, want to make them a small wall hanging.

What a neat quilt! I love the batiks and how you did the quilting. I can see why you leave it out year around :-)
Had already seen Dawn's post, so when I came upon yours it felt like a deja vu moment.
This is gorgeous--I love all things fall (even with Santas). You certainly did capture the forest floor! If you ever get tired of it on your wall it can come "hang out" with me. : )
This is just gorgeous! The batiks capture the ture fall colors.
Wow! So beautiful!!
So warm and inviting, a beautiful quilt!
Beautiful quilt, Kathie. Doing any stitching by hand on batik is hard and these are beautiful!!! I'd leave it out all year, too.
An exquisite quilt!!!! I love the colours and I think it's perfect for all year round too!!!!
VERY pretty!!
Nice quilt Kathie ;-)

Gorgeous quilt, I have always wanted to make a fall leaves quilt, maybe someday.

Oh, this is so beautiful! I just may have to start a new project!!
The quilt is lovely Kathie! Love the fabrics you used...
Fall colors and Maples leaves are my favorites! Thanks for another great inspiration. Did you cut the leaves from a template, use a die, or just trace from a pattern? Very Nice work.
