After reading the AP and Q red and white exhibit post I was inspired to make a little red and white quilt for my foyer table yesterday. The blocks are 3" finished , the borders I will trim back to 3.5 finished on the top and bottom.
I whipped up another quilt which I will show in another post I need to sew the borders on...I just love this bird toile fabric and I wish I bought a bolt of it!, I love birds on fabric and on quilts...oh and its red! its from Jo's Variety fabric line
Don't you think this bird toile would make a great center for this quilt in the Small Endearments book by Sandi Fox
not the best picture but you can get the idea....
and using the other reds as the hst around it....
I remember when I saw this red bird toile fabric the first quilt I thought was this one in Sandi's book. I love when I am inspired by an antique quilts . Guess that means I need to whip this one up too! Don't you agree? this little quilt needs to be made for my wall of little quilts and hmmm maybe a gift for someone too?

Your little quilts are very inspiring. I'm thinking of making a quilt using my indigo fabric and this one could be a good for it...
oo That toile. Need to buy a piece of it. I love the idea of the little quilt in Sandi's book.
notjustnat is right, your quilts are always very inspiring. They get me thinking :-). That is an adorable Sandi Fox quilt, would definitely be fun to make.
Ooh gorgeous red and white quilt and adorable toile. I too love anything toile and anything birdy!! Fabulous inspiration here as always Kathie. xo
There is just *something* about the red & white quilts, isn't there? That bird print is lovely. I had resisted that line because the reds, online at least, looked a little dull. (My screen?)Might have to revisit.
I love the red and white mini! I just have to get some bird toile, it's really beautifull, I'd even love enough for the back of a quilt, must talk to Santa.
Kathie, this is super fantastic. I bought 3 yards of that toile but wasn't exactly sure what to do with it. Thanks for the inspiring ideas.
I think that toile would be perfect. I only got two yards of the fabric but I am thinking a bolt would do very nice. It would also make great backings. Any one would love a gift of that little quilt. Cant wait to see it posted.
Very beautiful quilt again, Kathie. I do love the red quilts. Yes, I love that toile fabric and also love fabric with birds on it as I am a bird lover :D

What a cheerful holiday quilt! I love your toile fabric for the background.
I bought some of that red bird toile fabric with no ideas in mind. I love it with the little red pinwheels!! It will be lovely for the little antique quilt as well.
What a sweet quilt, Kathie. Great use of the bird toile.
Nice little pinwheel quilt. How do you keep coming up with them? I know, I know--you are inspired by antique quilts! : ) Your plans for the new little red & white quilt will create another winner!
Love the little quilt you've made - can't go wrong with pinwheels! I think your plan for another quilt with that wonderful toile is perfect. Turn up the holiday music and have fun!
Hi Kathie....indeed more little quilts are a must! Adorable!!!
I haven't taken photos yet as I still have binding to stitch down on the one....I made two of those little quilts like yours that I spotted last week. :-) I plan to gift them.

You have got the right idea to use the bird toile in your next project. It is gorgeous and you can't go wrong. Your finished red and white quilt is a keeper. Such class!
It's a winner! Yes, I need to replicate that wonderful doll quilt myself!
Tihs toile is lovely. I have a santa toile in r & w that I"ve been hoarding for years, this might be the perfect idea for it!
I love all the little quilts you've been making. Your r&w pinwheels are fun - very classic look, which you do so well. I too love Sandi Fox's book for the great inspiration. That r&w toile is perfect - that plan of yours will be a knockout quilt!
It would look so cute on your wall, that red toille is fabulous!!
OH yeah.............that would make a cute little quilt like you pictured.
I love your little quilt; the red toile is wonderful, and I think you should definitely make the quilt in the Small Endearments book. Nice reds you plan to put in the quilt. I think I might have a couple of those.
Great quilt ideas! I scored some of the red toile right after Thanksgiving - splurged on two yards as I know its going to be scarce soon. Your quilts are always an inspiration to me!
Adorable! It reminds me of peppermints...maybe the time of the year?
What a lovely toile!@! That will be a perfect center of a quilt.
Nice red & white quilts! I'm also in that mood lately and thinking about making one over the holiday weekends..
Love that little red and white. I'm in a small group (12) and after the excitement of the Red and White exhibit in New York someone suggested we each make one to show at our holiday party. Mine will be small - like yours as I haven't started but I do have my idea....will post them on my blog after the party.
OOOHHH I love that bird toile!! Your mini is such a pretty quilt to show it off. You have such a great selection of inspiring books!
