Usually by Feb the winter blues set in and I am looking forward to the beautiful colors the spring flowers bring.
This has been such an odd winter, very little snow so everything is looking a tad dull! Its time to bring out the bright fabrics and make a quilt . For me that usually means bring out the 30's reproduction fabrics. This year I will play with my friend Patty's 2.5" strips! OH just look at all this color and fun fabrics. Now to decide what to make.....
any suggestions?
nothing better then the 2 gallon ziploc bags to store these strips in!

Oh my goodness this is nothing but bright, happy fun and I look forward to whatever your creativity brings forth. Gosh Kathie - this is just the bomb!!!
Looks like a great selection of fabrics! My head would be swirling! How about a string quilt?
fun and cheerful fabrics to work with! looking forward to seeing what you do.
That looks like a whole lot of fun!
I agree that it's time to bring out the 30s prints. It has been a strange winter. Very strange. Hmmmm.
I am sure you will whip something up wonderful for our enjoyment :D I'm thinking something in a baby quilt :D :D
Well, you certainly do have a nice start to a quilt. I am sure you will create something very pretty with those fabrics.
I can hardly wait to see what beauty you make with those adorable fabrics. I love the colors of Spring - my favorite season.
Bonnie uses strips to make ALL of her quilts. I bet she has a fun free pattern that will use these up and brighten any day.
Spring is in the air *s*
I see a lof Kaffe in those strips! If they were my strips I know exactly what I would do. I'd cut 2 1/2" x 10 1/2" strips and put 5 together to create a block. On the 1st and 5th strip, on opposing ends I would sew a HST that went downward from left to right. This would create pinwheels when you put the blocks together, rotating every other block one turn.
Clear as mud right? I know you will come up with something absolutely fabulous! I can't wait to see.
I can't wait to see what you make. I love all your quilts!
Wow, what an array of color! There are so many cool patterns made from strips, but one of my favorites remains the simple 36 patch. There are some really striking ones where these bright colors are paired with matching solids in each block--or even with one solid throughout. : )
Yep....that is springtime in a baggie! Yay!
Can't wait to see what you make with those bright colorful strips!
Impressive! Can't wait to see where you're taking this Spring strip journey.
I can't wait to see what you do with them. I love 30's fabrics and have a huge container of them. You always inspire me!
I'm also a reproduction loving quilter but oh! the colors in these strips!!! LOVE them!!!
Wow, that's a lot of strips. Funny you should post about this today. I was checking out my 30's fabrics last night and sewed a couple of the Stars and Sprigs bright stars, too. I don't exactly have spring fever because it feels like we haven't had winter yet but I would like to see green grass again.
That looks more like my stash than your usual fabrics. I vote a string quilt of some sort. What fun!!
Can't wait to see what you are doing with these strips. They are jummy and yes I'm in the mood for these fresh colors too!
Looks like you will have spring one way or another.
