I had a lot of fun making my first Schnibbles quilt by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. SPOT. It won't be my last. I normally cut and sew, have to admit to not really paying attention to directions (don't you all do this too?), I make a few blocks cut some more make a few more blocks...till its done this time I decided to follow the instructions, WOW what a revelation! It was so easy to just make a few blocks when I had time, it was all precut. She lays these patterns out that once you cut them you can just sew, sew, sew!
I am happy I went with just 2 fabrics for this one, did you notice the background fabric, yup, dots! spots!
To border or not to border is the next decision. I am leaning towards no border and bind it in the red
Now lets see if I can do the T quilt for this month's, another year of Schnibbles pattern Bibelot .
Here is another quilt I started last week, its a reproduction of an antique quilt my friend owns. I am so lucky to have friends that lend me their antique quilts to study and reproduce.
This one just has a real folk arty feel to it and well its red and green what could be better? I traced the pattern and just changed the points to be a tad more rounded, I should have turned my block to be the same way as the antique, its a bit wider then longer.
some progress being made in the sewing room....

oh yes a border same as the sashing including the red squares and then the red as bidning ... I will leave the backign problem to you... but I'm glad it's your decision in the end I have enough virtual grey hairs from making mine.
Have a nice week!
I agree NO border and red binding and now we'e decided that how are you quilting it? Baptist fans!?
I'm a big Schnibbles fan, they are so much fun. Your applique blocks are beautiful. Great job!
Both beautiful quilts, you do so many quilts and appliqué, I need to get organized and get going on some large ones.

Spot looks fabulous!
Love the golden and red "Spot." Good work on the applique'!
I love Carrie's Schnibbles patterns. And I ma very guilty of not always reading the pattern and then having to go back and redo something. Not anything major, but enough to make me be more careful about reading the patterns FIRST :-)
Love your SPOT in two colors! I vote for no border - just binding.
Always enjoy your applique, Kathie.
The Schnibbles done in just 2 colours is magnificent - you've got me thinking that I now need to add this to my list. Your colour choice is equally wonderful - it will be a beauty when it is done. What am I saying? It is already!
Stunning, really like two color quilts, especially with red. No border, red binding is my vote. Off to hand quilt, and with a baptist fan.
I do love the way she lays out her patterns. So easy to follow and her tips are really wonderful too.
Your quilt turned out just beautifully. Oh how I love the red!
I'm loving both projects!
Beautiful red and white, and red and green projects--how fun to be working on such disparate quilts at once!
When using two colours it only takes a simple block and the look is sensational!!! I love the red print you chose, from Barbara Brackman's CW Reunion line, I love it!!!
Your traditional applique blocks are coming along well too, very nice work!!!!
I vote no border using the red binding. I like it. And who would not like the applique blocks?
Your first Schnibble is gorgeous. That fabric - both the red and dot are perfect!
They both look great to me! What is the red fabric in the first one? I can't place it. Looks fab though. ;)
I love the red!!!!!!
I vote for no border and red binding. Great looking quilt. I love your blog.

I love your oak leaf and orange peel appliqué! It's really beautiful. This has always been a favourite block of mine. Can't wait to see more Kathy!
Holy cow! Do you ever sleep?
Love that work.
Lovely Kathie - I like the two colours!
Hugs - Lurline♥
Isn't Schnibbles fun? I was in Schnibbles club at my LQS a couple of years ago and had wonderful time with making them. And love your new repro appliqué quilt, too!
Your "Spot" is beautiful! How big is it? Glad to hear that the pattern was easy to make. It looks like it was fun.
Your applique is looking good! Love that red and green.
Love the Scnibbles quilt--and you used that gorgeous red fabric!
Love this red/green applique. Very nice work, as always, Kathie!
That is so pretty, I looove the color combination.
I love the red and green applique! Gorgeous!
Do you want to know something? I am TERRIBLE at following directions! Seriously. Only when ALL else fails should you finally consider reading the directions.
I love your two-color Spot ~ and funny that you're working with a polka dot background the same time I was working with a pindot! Great minds... and all that. :)
Love it!
your schnibbels is wonderfull.

Love that red. I think I have a bit of it somewhere. Reproduction quilt must be fun. I love your version, green and read - Hugs Nat
Kathie,
I've heard of Schnibbles, but haven't ever seen a quilt. It looks like something I'm going to have to try it out.
Your Oak Leaf Reel is great! When you do your hand applique, what's your prep method? It looks very portable, is it?
I just had to check in for another look at your Schnibbles quilt and noticed your design wall. I need one badly but haven't found the right solution - is yours purchased or did you make it? If so, mind telling me how?
Love your newest red and green applique quilt! What's better then that?!
Love your pieced quilt too. The fabric you used makes a statement!!
your shnibble project looks great kathie - nice a crisp. I vote no border, but thats just me.
Your oak leaf blocks are great, one of my favorite patterns!
Both are so nice! I really like the red in Spot. I think I might put a light border with the red cornerstones around it if it were mine. I kind of miss it when it's between all the other blocks but not there. But it's not my quilt and if this is how you want it, then this is how it should stay! I love the Schnibbles patterns, too.
I love your blog!

Wow the red and white really pack a graphic punch, love the red fabric!!!
Your Snibbles is awesome in the two fabrics. The red/green quilt is SERIOUSLY AWESOME!!
I love the schnibbles in the red and white and I think no border, just red binding would finish it off nicely.
I like your two color quilt and your appliqué is very very nice.
Oh boy I love that red and white quilt - yummmy. Your applique blocks are beautiful as well.
Hugs - Karen
