Gwen Marston Liberated Medallion Quilts
all I can say is buy the book you won't be sorry! I LOVE this book! I am in awe, so many of the quilts you had to look at I didn't even see where they quilt was "liberated" ! All I saw was beautiful quilt after beautiful quilt, sooooo much inspiration in this book. A great variety of medallions some made by students of Gwen's as well. This book is so inspirational, great full shots of so many quilts. If you have never made or have made lots of medallion quilts your going to be so happy to own this book. 112 pages of pure joy. I love that she mixed applique and pieced as well....

Kathie I am tempted and as soon as I click off from here I shall go and buy it. Love Gwens work and have a few of her books in my collection. Wonder what you will make from it.
Back again and disappointed that I cannot get a copy until July, will just have to keep looking to see if it arrives sooner here in the uk.
Oh yes, very tempted, thanks for the awesome review Kathy. xo
Kathie! I just bought this book myself and is it ever wonderful! I have been going through it all week long. I agree with you that I didn't see the 'liberated' part of the quilting. Just gorgeous quilts. What I really love about Gwen's books is that she encourages us to enjoy our quilt making process rather than worrying about weather things are perfect or not. Love.Her.Books!
Thanks for the review of the book...looks interesting and well...maybe one day in the future I will make one.
I love a medallion quilt! I will keep my eye out for this book and hopefully I will get back to the medallion I am working on. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm one step closer to making a medallion quilt after reading your post. I've been thinking about it for a while and have been looking for the right "thing" to use for the medallion.

Yes, you have tempted me. I've been medallion dreaming for awhile now. Could this be a sign to start one? Actually, I have one that's been tucked away in need of quilting. I should dig it out.
I think I need to make one, too.
