My next block for my flower garden quilt
On Sunday after I finished my basket quilt decided I wanted to work on this quilt, I finished up two blocks that needed a bit more applique , still have one more but I can't find the pattern or the overlay for it! thats what I get for putting this project away. hopefully it will appear before I finish the quilt!
I prepped my next block yesterday after debating on using the dark purple or not. I like it and I know in the end it will fit in.
Now I am really inspired after seeing Janet's post yesterday, she finished the inside of the quilt. I love what she did for the sashing I may have to follow her lead there if I find the right fabric.
Have you noticed the difference , yes my quilt will be made in reproduction fabrics! check out the fabrics in some of these blocks, surprised? Yes, its true, reproduction fabrics can be bright and happy too! Wish I had collected more of them over the years, I am still on the look out for more to add to this quilt.

Kathie, your blocks are exquisite! You are indeed a master at applique...can't wait to see this one finished
Oh yes get back to work on this one it is gorgeous! Loved Janet's idea of sashing - works really well! Now just need to find out how is is in the original!
Do keep going it is going to be a stunner!
Kathie, they are beautiful!
WoW that will be so beautiful.
I Will update very soon about all what is going on here.

Love your blocks!!
I have the pattern and will make it one day....
Your garden looks happy and colourful. A good project for the spring.
Kathie love the purple :-) your blocks are gorgeous and I'm with you, always on the look out for bright repros, they make a quilt sing!
Your flowers are gorgeous, unless you look at them closely you wouldn't know that the fabrics were repros, they work really well.
Kathie, they are beautiful!!
Fabulous! I always enjoy seeing your progress on this project; your fabric choices are making one very happy quilt.
The purple caught my eye right away. A good choice for the flower block.
Isn't that funny?! Until I enlarged the photo, I didn't realize that you had used repro fabrics! Nice fabric choices! You have solved a dilema for me...I have always been drawn to Kim's patterns, but not quite to the fabric choices people have gone with. I do have the Stars and Sprigs...maybe someday...
In stitches,
Teresa :o)
Your flowers are beautiful.
Oh...your blocks are all so beautiful! Just wonderful! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see more!
Those are simply lovely! I love the curvy design!

This is the third quilt I've seen pop up recently. As always, your work and fabric choices are perfection!
Your blocks are looking great! It's really hard to tell that they're made from reproduction fabrics.
I saw Janet's post yesterday too and it reminded me that I need to get back to work on that quilt. I stopped right in the middle of appliquéing my first border.
Your blocks look very happy and bright! I love them in repro fabrics.
I have been telling the girls this for years - so nice for you to be able to show everyone - looking just beautiiful!
Hugs - Lurline.
Kathy I LOVE the dark purple in this block and that's a color I don't use much of. I really think I should open my boundaries a bit more. At least that's what my daughter always tells me:D
Beautiful block!
I like that purple and pink combo. You have a good reason to take this project slowly. By using only repros there isn't as much to choose from as the regular brights. The biggest impediment to getting back to a project for me is finding where I stashed it. I have my big flower blocks pinned to my wall but I don't know where I put the pattern. Now I must go look for it.
That dark purple was the thing I noticed before I read a word of your post--because I love purple repro fabrics and I don't think I have seen one that shade. Gorgeous! This is going to be a treasure!
I love the purple! Its a beautiful flower to add to the others. Bright repros are my very favorite :0)
Your garden of flowers is growing so beautifully - your applique is just wonderful. Can't wait to see this one finished up :).
Hugs - karen
Wow! Wonderful fabric choices in repros. They are bright! I love how you fussy cut (pieced?) the leaves in the upper right flower block. Your appliqué is gorgeous as well!
That is such a fun project! I love your blocks, Kathie!!
Your garden is looking great Kathie!
What a nice quilt to work on this time of year.
The blocks are beautiful, Kathie. I remember when you started this one and was intrigued with your use of reproduction fabrics.
Your flower garden is going to be joyful.
love the purples in your flower. It just makes it pop.
Thanks for the side piece about the Susan McCord quilt along site. I have been wanting to make this quilt for about 8 years since I was introduced to Susan McCords quilts on a trip to the Paducah quilt show. Perhaps this quilt adventure will finally get started for me, I certainly have accumulated the fabric for scraps.
Lovely spring garden--your repros are amazingly cheerful!
Kathie, your blocks are soon pretty. I love your Bright reproduction fabrics. Wish they would come out with some more.
I love your blocks... now the hunt for the right fabric. Maybe Janet still has a little bit of that old Kaffe fabric left. :)
Out of curiosity, when does fabric technically become "vintage"? When you can't buy it any more?
Lovely applique, is going to be a beautiful quilt.
your flower blocks are gorgeous! i love that you're doing them in repro. prints.:)
Those are beautiful flowers. Very inspiring!!!
Your flower blocks are so pretty! I think you have me wanting to make this quilt now!
The purple caught my eye and I'm not even a purple person. Beyond beautiful, it suits you.
Oh, the blocks are all so nice. You really have an eye for putting the right colors together.
So pretty! I love your fabric choices for these flowers.
I'm blown away by your blocks and the combo of fabrics you've used. These repros are a big surprise by how vibrant they can be.
