isn't this what a laundry basket is for????

I have been cutting strips for a few weeks now , I have plans for a few quilts using them!
you know its all about the fabrics so I wanted a good variety
looking forward to whipping up a few quilts soon. |

| I took out my Flower Garden appliqué blocks and decided its time to work on this project again. Something about the fall makes me want to do hand work , appliqué or hand quilting . I know my quilting is influenced by the time of the year whether it be the colors or the weather, isn't yours? |

That is the BEST use of a laundry basket!
Oh yes, that is what a laundry basket is for!! (and chairs, dining room tables, couches, coffee tables, heehee). Loving your block Kathie, esp that gorgeous purple and red. xo
Now, that's what I need in my sewing room! A laundry basket! My basket I currently keep scraps in is way too full, therefore way to small! Thanks for the idea. Love the colors in your block! Nice purple you chose.
Well that basket sure is a pretty way to hold those strips. I like the idea.
Have to say this is a fav appliqué project.
love it!!!
Yes! That is exactly what a laundry basket is for! I have been playing with my strips, pulling them one by one from my own laundry basket...so much fun, isn't it??
Yes, fall makes me want to hand stitch more too. It's more relaxing than fighting with my sewing machine :)
This applique block looks like it will be a beauty!
I lvoe the laundry basket of scraps. It makes for nice declaration!
Definitely the best use of a laundry basket! Love your applique block - the colors just make me happy!
I love that flower,

Such a beautiful basket of fabric strips! Love the beginning of that applique' block! Cooler weather is definately my favorite time for handwork too!
Oh, that block is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what you do with all the strips!
I would like to see more of your Flower Garden quilt.
This is the first one I have seen not done in Kaffe fabrics. It’s lovely.
That's what I use my laundry basket for.
Your block is lovely.
I don't even have a laundry basket! I look forward to seeing what project you are cutting strips for.
I love your applique!
I just want to swim in that basket of strips! lol I agree, Fall = handwork!
Like, Lori, I don't even have a laundry basket but if I did well it would have to be used for my scraps, as well. It's perfect, Kathie.
Love, love, love your flower. I like handwork year around. Usually the seasons, etc influence my color choices but this year I seem to stuck in lighter brighter colors. LOL
I love your kind of "laundry"!! : )
I am so happy to see your flower garden quilt out again. I love these blocks. They are going to make a gorgeous quilt!
The seasons definitely play into what I do. I'm ready to get a top basted for hand quilting--which I don't do on large quilts in the summer. And the choice of colors is heavily influenced by seasons.
I use baskets to store fabrics in, great way to keep them together and it looks nice. Love your applique, really in the mood to make something new so need to get organized and put away projects that can wait and start on christmas.

I think the strips are so pretty in the basket, I'd just leave them there! Wonderful flower block!!
Gorgeous basket. It looks like you subscribe to my theory: if the basket is beautiful, then the scraps become decor *s*
I love your laundry basket full of strips! 1.5"? I am ashamed of how many scraps I have. I've only made one quilt from them in the past six years. Any hints for your new projects? The flower garden block is so pretty, I like your colors. You inspire me to get my behind in the sewing room and get busy! Good title for a blog, "Inspiring Quilters to Get Off Their Behinds!!" haha
Pretty flower! Nice progress :)
Your scrap basket is beautiful. Mine are stored in a very uninspiring zippered clear plastic bag. :(
I'm so happy to see you working on your Flower Garden again. I look forward to seeing each addition!
The seasons play a big part in my quilting/sewing. When it's hot out I do applique, when it's cool I quilt or do more piecing. My color picks change too.
Well, laundry is made of FABRIC so I think it is perfectly appropriate :)
Love your applique block color choices. Pretty!
Absolutely! I am obsessed with hand work when the weather turns colder.
Love the SCRAP basket...
laundry? what's that?
What gorgeous fabrics in your applique block! It's going to be a beauty. With the snow outside today I just want to sew with warm colors.
I love that flower garden quilt. I've been working on my own - slowly but steadily. My current block is nearly finished but I decided I don't like the final fabric I am using so I am going to pick that one off and try again. I find applique so relaxing, don't you?
Look at that basket of strips all waiting to be sewn! I love your flower block, I always think those flowers look as though they are dancing.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you make with the contents of your laundry basket.
Looove your Flower Garden block. Wonderful fabrics!
I tend not to do hand work when it is very hot.
I love that you're doing this in repro colors; it's so rich looking.
I can see your turn under lines so clearly, but how are the pieces basted to the background?
I love the baskets. I just can't remember the maker now, but I have a few of them from my dear American friend. Applique, um I miss applique! Look out for a secret parcel...!
Love your big flower block! and yes, fall always seems like a great time to quilt.
Still love your repro flower blocks, they look so different from the Kaffe fabrics but still bright. I think I need to organise my scraps better and get a laundry basket.
oo boy what do I love your laundry basket!
oo boy what do I love your laundry basket!
Love the laundry basket of strips...I'm supposed to go to a strip party next week and hope to end up with a similar looking basket! Your applique block looks BEAUTIFUL! I prefer your fabric choices to all the modern fabrics I've seen this quilt done in!
hanks for all your words of wisdom this week!
In stitches,
Teresa :o)
My wicker laundry basket was once my son's toy basket....now it's my scrap basket...all play and not much work around here!
Your applique work is awesome. I LOVE how you are using reproduction fabrics on this pattern. Why didn't I ever think of that?
