I was lucky enough to win one of Linda Collins from Quilts in the Barn blog first patterns.
She has an incredible collection of Antique quilts that she will be making patterns from as well, I am so looking forward to many of those patterns!
I decided mine was going to be made with this red print from the Collection From a Cause line by Moda and I will use the Moda Bella 60 as my background.
Of course I was really tempted to make the quilt as soon as the pattern arrived but I refrained, I am trying to finish up a couple of ufo's first....see the sneak peak in the upper right hand corner!
Isn't it a beautiful quilt? click to see Linda's!
You know I am always on the lookout for great background fabrics! the fabrics are a tad darker then in this picture, look at the next picture
Toasted by Jo Morton a line that has be reprinted I have a few pieces of a few of these but very happy to have them back in my collection. I ordered a fat quarter bundle but think I may need to buy another 1/2 yard bundle to go under the Christmas tree, don't you think thats a good idea?
I am so happy to find a shop, Homestead Hearth, that makes fat quarter bundles and 1/2 yard bundles of Reproduction fabrics again
OMG these prints on the end I just LOVE. the darker one may just have to be a future border or sashing fabric, I love the bold print and the color well I keep thinking of caramels, isn't that a good thing!
Sunday Best by Jo Morton, yes I kept pushing buy buttons during Hurricane Sandy and now they are arriving! Its fun to get fabric in the mail! Love that leaf print in the front, may need a few yards of that one!
I figured you wanted to see the sneak peak of my red and white ufo in the top picture
Here is whats on my cutting board this morning. They are just waiting to become little nine patches...
this quilt is for ME, even though someone said yesterday oh I hope your making that quilt for me....
NOPE Its for ME!
I am a huge fan of this bird toile, just LOVE it.... doesn't this quilt look so old fashioned????
I did not fussy cut at all , I just kept cutting strips and sewing them together not even making sure the birds are facing up! just keep sewing....sometimes you just need to keep sewing and not worry about placement, I know it will all work out in the end.
Hope you find some time to sew/quilt this weekend....

Love your red and white nine patches...I love that you just cut the toile...I really like doing that...it just happens and gives the quilt so much movement. A very happy thing.
The pattern is lovely and I do love your 9-patch toile. I was just thinking that my next quilt to start (not now, but maybe sometime next year) should be a 9-patch. Maybe a double 9-patch or a 9-patch with alternating HSTs. First I have several that I want to finish.
Your nine patch is beautiful! It is such a gorgeous toile.
looks great! I can see why they want it. Good for you keeping it for you.
That toile is gorgeous as is your quilt. Might need some of that myself.
Linda's pattern is lovely too will continually watch this space to see when that one appears.
Wow, this quilt looks fantastic.
Liebe Grüße Grit
Great fabric choice for your Infinite Variety quilt! Your R&W quilt makes me want to revisit my UFO! It is just so yummy with the bird toile.

I had to buy some of the bird toile when you posted about awhile ago. It's perfect with the simple nine patch. It's a wonderful combo.

Your red and white quilt is going to be stunning. Love the toile fabric you used with it. Really classy.
Two red/white quilts in one post--you are on a roll. They are both beautiful. I love that "Infinite Variety Revisited". It is a very interesting block design. I could see this in scraps as well, with each block being a different dark and light.
I can't imagine what your stash is like, Kathie! : )
Congratulations on your win. I love toile too, any toile. Your quilt is turning out lovely.

Fab toile birdy red/white quilt!
This is so beautifull.
I love the nine patch you are maing. The toile fabric is a great choice.
Oh Kathie, I just aDore this red toile bird quilt, love, love, love it! Can't wait to see it finished. Congrats on your prize - I have a pattern too and saw the real deal at the QITB exhibition - gorgeous.
Another winner in the works! My sister and I buy a FQ bundle of each new line of Jo Morton fabrics. We then split the FQs into F8s. That way we each get at a touch of the new stuff. Can always buy more yardage if there is a favorite among the line.
