sometimes its the little things during the holidays that just makes you smile....
aren't these napkins just so fun?  reminds me of the HOHOHO little quilts I made...
making the sample ornament (see last post for book/pattern info) to see if I can really do this...no design yet I may just embroider it on with pearle cotton.  that is an option in the book too.

not as hard as I thought it would be....of course I am not changing yarns, will go back in January and learn how to do that.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and magical treasured moments .....

Enjoy your holiday season  whatever it may be  and just remember take time to relax, make those memories, just enjoy the simple things.

Love the napkins and your Ho Ho Ho little quilts. The ornaments look like fun. I found a tute on line for the basic ball so am going to give it a try the day after Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Looking good! There are many on- line tutorials, videos, showing "stranded" knitting, carrying two colors along and alternating between them. The essence of all of them is don't let the float (the unknitted strand carried along the back) get too tight. It helps to see what the knitting should look like on the back, that's the main benefit of the tutorials. You'll do great. Knitting with the two colors is much more efficient than embroidering the motifs. With just a little practice (maybe one slightly wonky ball to get the feel of things), it'll flow right along. Then you can knit Nordic sweaters to your heart's content;-) Keep us posted.

I'm not a knitter, but I admire those who do, and I turn pretty green with envy. You're going to have so much fun! And you're not taking red/white too far. You're just taking it to a new level, heading off down another road, with the clicking of knitting needles setting your pace.
I do remember your little Ho-Ho-Ho quilts, and love that napkin.
Have a Merry, Merry Christmas, Kathie. Best wishes from my house to yours.
