thought this would just make you smile today! I am ready to start another scrappy quilt, one quilt that is on the top of my list for quilts in 2013. First I pull out my squares, I always cut squares from every fabric that comes into my sewing room. just makes it easier when you want to make a scrappy quilt! Can't believe thats my last charm pack, wow.
I plan on working on cutting these into strips the next week or two in between all the activities. I am hoping this keeps my sewing room neat and tidy during the holidays!
still making 4 patches as well from the strips from my friends scrap basket!
I still have quite a few bindings to sew down as well....I wonder if I can ever catch up!

wow, Kathy, that is alot of blocks! I do believe you will be very busy.
That sure is a lot of squares. Can’t wait to see what you do with them.
ROFL!! I love the stack of squares! The charm pack sitting next to it looks so... so... paltry.
Now go knock it over so we can see what fabrics you've got in there!
And I love the little four-patches in the front and the pincushions in the back! The snowman is seriously cute - and "Kathie".
ooohh gosh you makes me jealous with your more than 12 inch high pile of squares :-))
Can't wait to see which quilt you are going to make. which is on the top of your list for 2013.
I wish I could sew with you, need someone to motivate me, lol. I am still finishing up some christmas things.
Debbie
I take all the left over fabric I used in making a quilt top and cut it up into squares and strips after the back is pieced together, so there is nothing left to add to the scrap basket.
You are a girl after my own heart....
Here is my :), Kathie!!!
xoxox, Carolyn
What size do you cut your fabric squares? Just curious:) your tower of fabrics makes my quilting heart beat faster!
Love your stack of squares! I also like your red and green 9-patches and little 4-patches. Can't wait to see what you do with them. I blogged about you today. :) Judy
Lovely stack of fabrics, Kathie!!
What a smart idea.....I'm going to start doing that! Wrangling yardage is so time consuming, when all you are after is a smidge! Thanks!
I like the idea of cutting a square of each fabric...what size do you use? It makes it much easier than rummaging through your stash.
I too am curious about what size you cut the squares. Is that pile your squares from your most recent shopping or from your "all time" fabric shopping?
I think I like the process pictures even better than the finished quilt pictures. I love the stacks of fabrics and blocks. Thanks, too, for putting that ruler up against the tower of squares. I was going to ask how tall it was. So, instead, I am going to ask, "what are you making from it?"
Now that is organized! I showed someone your postage blocks (a non quilter) and she asked if you were insane. I replied "there isn't a bit of work in that, just hours of pleasure" BTW we will never be caught up, where's the fun in that?
Definitely smiling :-)
Have fun!
WoW, I can't wait to see your next and next and next quilts. You are so lucky to have Lorre, all you need is me to do your bindings : D
Happy Christmas time. We are already in switzerland with
Leealiina (youngest) and Nero.
The pile is climbing to scrap heaven! Pretty darn amazing to have that many choices :)
Look at the stack!! Very impressive.
Busy, busy you are!! Cute little four patches - just makes me want to nab a few or at least get busy with my own!!
Blessings
Quite an impressive pile of squares!! Look forward to seeing your scrappy quilt!!! Have a wonderful and safe Christmas!!!
Can`t wait to see it reveled.Merry Christmas!!
Love your idea of having a bit of each fabric readily available for scrappy. For awhile there I was cutting up my fat quarters into strips and charms to have handy.
My goodness you are so organised Kathy. I need to take a leaf out of your book. Just love all that creativity :-)
HOLY SMOKES! I'm still trying to decide what fabrics to send you. Your photo isn't helping me narrow it down.
Thanks for encouraging organisation! One of my New Year's resolutions, lol.
Hugs - Lurline.
My pile of scraps I am using is only a fraction of that high and my dog had knocked it on the floor three times and my husband once and not even a day has passed since I began sorting them.
That's a really impressive stack! I have been cutting squares ever since you told me about how you do it and I thought I had a good stack. It looks pretty paltry next to yours. I have a lot more fabric waiting to be cut down after Christmas and am really looking forward to making scrap quilts from it. It's going to be so much faster to work from the pre-cut squares that I don't know why I never thought of doing that.
Can't wait to see what you're going to do with the four patches. I just finished 110 of them last week but need to wait until I can get to my design wall to lay them out.
Wow! Thanks one big stack of squares! Enjoy.
