my first finished quilt this year!  I chose a grey black for the binding its from the morris apprentice line by Barbara Brackman.  I was surprised how well it worked as it is not a bold black at all , love the leaves on it too ! I actually had a hard time choosing binding for this one.
My quilting started to improve by the time I was done with the quilt so there is hope!  We are our own worse critics aren't we?  I am so happy I hand quilted this one as I know he will appreciate it as well as it sold me on doing more hand quilting .
My goal is to make 12 blocks a week of 4 patches for a future project...some are 2 fabrics some are 4 different or 3 different fabrics...love that it draws you in to look
Yes 12 blocks a week of the red and green nine patches too!  That will be a quilt by Christmas this year.
And TADA!!!!  my crumbler quilt  is a top now, 75" x 76",and on the hanger with the backing ready to go to the machine quilter today.  Having that template to make the side shapes just really made it so much easier.
I had a very productive weekend in the sewing room, hope it was for you too!

Did you see the quilt Carol made?  I fell in love with it instantly!  another quilt I can make from the scrap basket except for the background which hopefully I have something in the closet that works
The pattern for it is FREE!  a bonus.
And Did you see Nifty's quilt she made with the template she won from my giveaway?  just how fun is this one, The TIKI ROOM! does't the name of the quilt say it all?

Congrats on your first finish!!

I love your idea of small, manageable goals for those projects requiring so many identical units. It sure makes those goals obtainable!

I also love the name "crumbler."

My buddy gave me a magnet for Christmas that reads, "DON'T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF!" I need to find one for you. The hand quilting looks very nice!

You had me looking on a Penn. map to find Denver's...

In stitches,
Teresa :o)

Love the 4-patch and 9-patch ideas.
The tumbler quilt looks great!
Yes, I saw Carol's quilt--and I downloaded the pattern. More temptation! I need to lock myself in my sewing room!

The little quilt is a winner! I like different blacks too and usually look for brown blacks, which are hard to find :) Lots of scrappy goodness in your life, and plenty of good goals with them!

I love all of these, but especially the cucumber quilt. What a fun way to use scraps. I have been looking at the morris apprentice line and drooling. I am going to have to order some next time I have some money.

And yes, I agree, we are our worse critics. Hours and hours we look on our work and so we can see every little mistake we made. :-)
