Here is a red and white quilt I will be working on next!  Not sure how I will lay the quilt out yet for now I will be making blocks , lots of them!  you know I will never tire of red and white quilts!  I was inspired when I saw Linda working on hers thought I would make a few blocks...yes hers is finished (quilt # 20) mine will be done this year :)  Linda will be publishing a pattern for her quilt some time soon.  I really needed a few more reds and still need more red and white shirtings so I guess I will need to do some more shopping (so sad isn't that?)  to finish this project.  When I saw that Whittles has cotton club for $5.00 a yard I just had to order them and of course added a few other reds, greens and background fabrics for that price it was worth it!  Then the shipping is only $5.00 right now too!
I shop at Whittles a lot for backings at $5.00 a yard how can you go wrong?  they are wonderful to work with, very helpful , service is great.  Isn't that what a quilt shop should be?   Just wish I lived close to them!

have to admit when I got home on Monday and opened the box loved a few of these reds, yesterday I just had to go back on line and order yardage of a few of these I have plans for a few more red and white quilts this year...adding in some green :) too!  Spending Christmas money is fun !!!!
hmm wonder if it counts for last year shopping since its Christmas money?????

If you know of any  new red and white shirting lines coming out let me know I need more of them...
or even other lines already out  thanks!
I just had to share this with you , its a kitchen  towel, remember these?  Calendars on towels I remember them from my childhood, have seen them in antique stores ,they used to hang in my aunts house every year.  this one is from a friend, I was shocked to get it as I hear they are RARE , Moda hopefully will print many more of them next year.  Its just so cute!  eventually will be the back of a little quilt or maybe the center of a medallion?  I can't thank her enough for sending me this one, i  just love it!

Love your red and white! This is a beauty!! I love shopping at Whittles. You can't go wrong at all with their wonderful prices. It was nice seeing the price of Mary Koval's new fabric line on their site. Boy, you can't beat that!

Great choice Kathie, that was one of my favourites when we visited the Quilts in the Barn last year.

Love your R&W quilt (of course - what's not to love?!). I saw the Cotton Club on Whittle's yesterday - soooo tempting, but did you see the pictures I just posted of my stash, on my blog? Yeah...I really don't need any fabric! Oh, but it's such a good price...

Your red and white always makes me think I need one too!!
I have to tell you that those calendars aren't obsolete. I was quite surprised to find a variety of them around the holidays at a special gift shop. I thought they were from the past too. There was a display of them with about 12 different designs like hummingbirds, barns, flowers, etc.

*Ahem*, you didn't hear it from me, but the next Minick and Simpson fabric line (After Indigo Crossing) just might be all red and white.

I had a full cart online with Whittles two days ago and then told myself to wait a bit. I hope you left some for me! I got sucked in by the Moda Metropolitan Fair line yesterday. Paid way more a yard than the Whittles fabric. Boo! There is also great new Judie R line out with indigoes and pink. I love that one too. I just wish I had any local quilt shop that carried a good stock of repros. Is there any of the PA shops you recommend particularly? I might make a trip there in spring if I save some money.

Oh, you temptress, you! I got the Whittles email and started to look at the fabrics and then convinced myself to walk away from the computer before I did too much damage. After seeing your beautiful selection, now I want to go back and look again. : )
The red and white is lovely--simple visual patterns in two colors have such appeal.
What a fun tea towel. Oh, I want one for my sewing room!

OMG, Kathie, this is going to be a stunning quilt. Red is my favorite color so I'll be anxiously watching for more progress.

Hey, a calendar towel like yours arrived in my mailbox, too. I love it. :-)

Red and white will never lose its classic status! Looks like you have a great selection to choose from. Reds always seem to run short in my stash and I'm forever looking for good ones. Love that linen calendar with machines! Never seen one before.
