A little quilt I finished yesterday it will be a gift. the plan is to baste it and start quilting it today.
I may take it apart and make the red strips 1/2" instead of the inch they are now.  Still debating.
This quilt was made from my scrap basket and a few hst I had in a bin that I trimmed down to fit the size I wanted.  The HST are 1.5" finished.  The quilt is approx.  16 x 20.5"  It was fun to make.
Bet you can guess what this will be, now these were cut from my strip bins of 1.5" strips.  yes there is a difference from the scrap basket and the strip bins!
on the design wall needing to be sewn together today!  looks good in red too don't you agree?
Honestly I really like both of them, ah yes its true I am becoming a blue convert!

a truer color picture of the little quilt but dark :)
whats on my cutting table hopefully for today!  debating on using that black fabric or not...
yes what better way to spend a few hours on Jan 1, 2013 in the sewing room I want to start the year off right!
Happy New Year wishing you many hours in your sewing rooms/spaces being creative and just having fun.

Love all of the little creations, Kathie. The hour glass quilt is very fun. I can see the point about the red strip--it is a strong visual point. If you don't want it to be as dominant, cutting it down would be a good choice.
Mmm, the black and cheddar fabrics look intriguing. Can't wait to see what comes of them.

Happy New Year! Love that blue and red mini! I'm thinking about working on a pink one that is similar. I have been playing around with the idea for some time. Thank you so much for your inspiration! Happy Quilting!

Love the red one as much as I love the blue one. Fabulous, Kathie!

I am beholden to the scrap basket and now I'm going to bow down to the strip bins. :)

I may have to step into my sewing room for a bit today just to set the right pace for 2013.

Lots of wonderful projects in progress, I need to get in my room and start organizing and figuring out what to start next. Getting tops ready to quilt is on the top of the list.

Happy New Year, Kathie. Looks like you're getting off on the right foot for 2013 by stepping into your sewing room. I like the blue little quilt, but the red one is fabulous. I think a small scrap quilt is in order for the first week of January, and I already have my scrap box out. Thanks for such an inspiring blog.

i enjoy everything you do, Kathie! Yes, RED is my favorite, but I love color period. Both 4 patches are yummy, and they would be in greens, or cheddar, or....!

That black fabric with the squiggly lines is one of my favorite of Jo Morton's fabric. Like the cheddar you put next to it. What a lovely project they would make!

Donna actually this fabric is from 2005 by Virginia Robinson , an oldie but goodie for sure!, the cheddar is from marcus bros.

Ah yes--the joy of digging in the scraps and the strips. They're two different worlds, but both are equally fun to go through.
I can't think of a more perfect way to start the new year, with a healthy chunk of cheddar sitting on the cutting mat. Enjoy cutting into it and starting another fun project.
Happy New Year, Kathie.
